Cashew Coffee

18th November 2018 By Urvashi Roe

I have started to eat a handful of nuts in the morning. Almonds, Cashews, Brazil Nuts are what I current have in the cupboard. There are so many articles about nuts suppressing hunger, reducing calories consumed during the day blah blah blah. But I guess the main reason for me was to add protein into my diet more easily.

I read quite a lot of articles on the health benefits of different nuts like this one from the guys at Vitality and this pdf from the California Almonds team is quite useful. But it all gets rather confusing to remember. So I decided that I’d just make a conscious effort to add more nuts to what I eat during the course of the day. And a super quick way to do that is to blitz them into a coffee. I don’t make nut milk or anything that fancy. And I don’t soak to nuts at all either because I forget. I do however toast them slight while I am warming the milk because the end result does taste nicer but you don’t have to.

Anyway, here’s my ‘recipe’ for Cashew Coffee if you want to try it. A few folk on my Instagram asked so I thought I would write it up. I sometimes use almonds, sometimes hazelnuts. Just whatever if handy.

Enjoy!
